more about The Dred.....

Like all of the vehicles in the original grateful dead caravan, this vehicle has a name familiar to early deadheads. The Dred was given it’s name by Owsley Stanley shortly after his purchase of this truck in 1966. According to Owsley, the name “Dred” came from a character in an old Dr. Marvel comic book from the 1950’s.
